Domaine Gavignet
Domaine Maurice Gavignet is based in Nuits Saint Georges and owns 10 hectares of vineyards across the villages of the Cote de Nuits including the famous village of Vosne Romanee, the home of Domaine Romanee Conti.
Arnaud took over the winemaking from his father in 2003 and his wines are getting noticed winning several accolades and being noted in the Guide Hachette. Arnaud is a perfectionist, even his Hautes Cotes de Nuits is produced entirely from a single vineyard (Les Dames Huguette), and he sees it as the benchmark for the rest of his wines.
The family are in total control of production from the harvesting of grapes through to maturing in cask and bottling and the attention to detail in the selection of grapes and meticulous wine making is clearly and generously rewarded in the glass.
