UMAMU
Sparkling Chardonnay 2005 16.5
Yeasty apple aroma and an unusual combination on the palate of creamy apricot fruit and a cedary aftertaste. Unusual and complex.
Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc 2007 17
Delicate, mineral, hint of green pea. Fresh and refined but still very tight.
Restrained ,mineral nose. Almost slight in body but has impressive freshness, youth and length.
Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2007 17
Sweet, ripe dark fruit and plenty of eucalyptus. Lively and tight tannins balance the richness of thefruit.
Shiraz 2007 17
Attractive mineral character at first, giving it a more Rhone-like feel, but then the eucalyptus appears on the palate to tell you where it’s from.
SIRROMET
Signature Collection Merlot 2009 17
12 months in new oak.Chewy, sophisticated and ripe - but structured and honest too. Long chocolatey finish. Minty. With Merlot like this, who needs Cabernet?
Signature Collection Sunwine 16
Porty, grapey, really sweet but lacks the fine acid of Rutherglen, say. Good stuff, but more of a curiosity than a world-class sticky.
